We were approached way back when it was cold, about a project for the Mint, promoting the design of their new coins. Yoho, Julia and Gary were thrilled to work on the project, partially because it was a chance to work with the team at Y&R (Joe & Darcy, Francheska & Macelo, & Jacqueline), and partially because the spots were so well suited to what we do. Crush worked with the agency closely from the beginning, producing fully realized pieces to help bring the clients through the process. “Parks” began in July and was delivered at the end of September with Yoho leading the project. Julia designed the end mnemonic and CG animation was added by Leo and Josh. The project allowed us to create something really beautiful, and illustrative that celebrates the beauty of the country. We looked to the National Film Board for reference, as well as the work our designers have done on their own in the past. It was a dream project and we’ll be really sad when it’s over.
